6th October 2010
Markerstudy’s Retail Division has successfully migrated all of its brands from CDL and Insurecom to Open GI in a complex project completed in just over eight months.
Mobilers Insurance (including Caterers Club), Thames City, Insurance Factory and ASA Broking (T/A Insurance Factory.com) are all now live and trading on Open GI. The system has the capacity to support up to 130 users.
The migration involved the launch of a completely new e-commerce site for commercial vehicle www.insurancefactory.co.uk , designed and built by the Open GI e-commerce team, and two new trading sites for private motor, www.insurancefactory.com and www.thamescity.co.uk. Each are linked to comparison sites via Open GI’s eAggregator solution and benefit from real time dynamic pricing via Active Quote.
This is alongside new EDI schemes for motor and commercial vehicle built exclusively for Markerstudy by Open GI, and a full disaster recovery solution.
Russell Bence, Sales Director, Markerstudy Retail Group, said: “The Open GI system provides a fantastic platform for growth and will deliver significant efficiencies for the business. We have a highly aggressive strategy, so it’s important we work with a technology provider that can help us increase our market share, particularly in commercial vehicle and household – two key areas for growth in 2010.
“The thin client environment we have implemented is flexible to accommodate expansion and InfoCentre Plus will improve the quality of our business intelligence – essential in today’s economic climate. Add to this the products we have implemented to support our online strategy, and we have a winning formula for driving the business forward.”
Simon Hughes, Sales & Marketing Director, Open GI, said: “Markerstudy is one of Open GI’s largest new business deployments in recent months. As it covers both broker and insurer product delivery, it has involved all areas of the business from e-commerce through to EDI development. To have migrated all of these businesses in just over eight months is testament to the commitment of Open GI staff and our close working partnership.
“Markerstudy continue to enjoy an excellent reputation in the private car insurance and Motor Trade markets and I am pleased we are able to support their aggressive growth plans.”
