Graham Madgwick, Head of Broking Systems at Towergate,
preparing for his gruelling, long distance challenge
Leading broker solutions provider, Open GI, will be sponsoring Towergate’s Head of Broking Systems in a major cycle ride for Help the Hospices.
The 1,000 mile, 11-day challenge from Lands End to John O’ Groats is being undertaken by Graham Madgwick, pictured above and friend Williams Watts, on 27th May. Open GI has pledged £1,000 in sponsorship with Towergate Partnership Ltd matching the total amount of personal sponsorship raised.
Graham, who has worked for Towergate for six years, has been cycling since 2000 and hopes to raise over £5,000 for Help the Hospices. Graham’s progress can be viewed on his Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/madgwick-lejog
His plans are to average 90 miles each day and he will be carrying all overnight equipment on his bike, as well as a 2 litre daily water intake – totalling more than 100kg, including his own weight!
Graham Madgwick, Head of Broking Systems, Towergate Partnership Ltd, said: “This is a particularly tough journey but we wanted a strenuous challenge – something that would really push us to our limits. With the support of family, friends, work colleagues and companies like Open GI and Towergate, we can make our target of £5,000 a reality and support such a worthwhile charity as Help the Hospices.”
Chris Guillaume, Managing Director, Open GI, said: “Help the Hospices perform a vital service and we are pleased to be able to support them through this challenge. I wish Graham and William every success and sincerely hope they reach their charity target.”
