Leading software provider, Open GI, has quadrupled its 2015 charity target by raising a staggering £34,200.99 for Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.
Open GI commit to supporting a local charitable cause each year and at the end of 2014, Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign was chosen. The 400-strong workforce worked tirelessly throughout the year to raise vital funds for the charity, taking part in sporting events, cake sales and most recently a Christmas quiz.
The trust set a campaign target of £1.8m to develop a dedicated Breast Unit at Worcester Royal Hospital for women and men across Worcestershire for all breast-related issues. The building is scheduled to open its doors in February 2016.
Steven Thrush, Consultant Breast Surgeon, said:
“An amazing effort from Open GI – such a successful local company getting behind this local charity demonstrates the support and hard work that has been achieved to get to the position that we are in at the moment – I can’t thank Open GI enough.”
Chris Guillaume, Group CEO at Open GI, said:
“We are elated to have raised such a substantial amount of money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign. I am exceptionally proud of the dedication and effort that all our employees put in to contribute to the total raised. It is with great pleasure that our business has been able to help Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign succeed in the build of a new, state-of-the-art Breast Unit.”
