Open GI now live on MyLicence

Open GI has today confirmed that it is the first technology solutions provider live with the new MyLicence initiative. It has also confirmed that Sabre will be the first insurer to offer MyLicence, using Open GI’s technology, early 2015.
MyLicence was launched last month following the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) collaboratively working with the ABI and DVLA to launch a scheme to support the Government’s Insurance Industry Access to Drive Data programme.
Open GI is now live following extensive data hub testing – which is ahead of other companies who are due to be ready in 2015.
Commenting on the announcement, Open GI’s Distribution Director David Kelly stated:
“This is a tremendous development for Open GI. We first announced that Open GI was to offer MyLicence in July of this year. Our initial enquiries from insurers wanting to be equipped with the technology was very encouraging.
“Fraud is still very topical and MyLicence is a fantastic initiative to help eliminate erroneous policy information and consequently lower motor insurance premiums for consumers. In addition, it will allow the broker community to maintain their competitive edge in a fast-paced premium market.”
